7 Year Airbnb Super Host
I started my Airbnb management business 7 years ago. It actually happened purely by accident. I wasn't even looking to start a new business. I was managing a brand new apartment complex in downtown Chattanooga that was designed for college students attending the local university. However, the owners of the property failed to do proper research of other college housing properties in the area and the lack of amenities with the price point they needed was super imbalanced. Getting tenants was challenging to say the least.
We decided to list one apartment on Airbnb to see if it might be a solution to our problem. I had no idea what I was doing, but I picked my way through setting up my profile, decorating the listing & adding supplies, taking pictures of the listing (the apartment), and adding a nightly price. In the beginning, I didn't even know a cleaning fee could be added! I was cleaning the apartment after guests left; a duty I allowed to be added to my workload with NO ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION!
Luckily, I learned about cleaning fees, hosting fees, and space budget...then wah-la...my Airbnb Management business was born.
